Grass roots groups like the PDPA can't succeed without involvement from group members. We need dependable volunteers since our funds go toward building and sponsoring dog parks. Take a look at the list below. Volunteer opportunities range from scooping to offering legal advice. Every little bit of help is appreciated!

• Water our trees!!! We have four young saplings that desperately need watering! If you go to the park on a regular basis, maybe you could remember to bring water for the trees. Each tree needs 10 gallons per week... Can you help? Contact Betsy@providencedogparkassociation.org!!!!

• Dog park committee – to meet as needed to oversee and monitor the dog park project.

• Communications – writers who can help with press releases, newspaper articles, newsletters, mailings, brochures.

• Fundraising – join the committee or just offer suggestions. cultivate corporate and private support, find sponsors for park items (ie: benches, bag dispensers), think of/develop fundraising events.

• Legal issues – are you an attorney who could help us with legal matters?

• Tax issues – we need someone who knows the ins and outs of taxes.

• Park design and landscaping – give us your experience and input.

• Park maintenance – the Gano Street Dog Park monthly park clean-up is the last Sunday of every month at noon (weather permitting). General clean up activities are raking, sweeping, scooping. Stop by if you're free. Sometimes we even bring snacks...

• Community partnerships/sponsorship – Talk to your vets, trainers, landscape designer, dog day care businesses, dog walkers and groomers about our need for a park. Their support is important to us.

• Word of mouth – That's right… just talk about the group and what we are working on. It helps to get the word out, to familiarize our friends and neighbors with our group. Think of it as free publicity!
